Exciting news!

We had an ultrasound done last week, and found out that we are expecting twins! They should arrive sometime mid to late April depending on how early they are born. My actual due date is May 5, 2012. This is a double blessing for our family and we are very excited! Please pray for us and our new babies. Thank you!

Conjugal Love Receives a “Higher Value” through Natural Family Planning

Here is the first paragraph of this great article from HLI America by Christopher J. Stravitsh:

“The honorable practice of regulating birth rate…which is proper to the purity of married couples, far from harming conjugal love, rather confers on it a higher value” (Humanae Vitae, n. 21).

The growing number of “NFP couples” indicates that many couples find truth and encouragement in Paul VI’s words and in their practice of Natural Family Planning. Intuitively they have experienced the “higher value” that is conferred on their conjugal love through the “honorable practice of regulating birth.”

Institute of Medicine recommends mandating a Culture of Death

Mike Manhart, CCL's Executive Director, commented on the newest attempts by the Institutes of Medicine to mandate contraception and sterilization as "necessary preventative care" in this blog post.
Here is an excerpt from his blog post:

This is the latest example of government imposition of a world view that is completely counter   to what we hold as Catholics to be true. If this is enacted, every Catholic institution would be forced to  provide insurance to cover contraception (including emergency contraception that causes abortion) or face the prospect of being in violation of federal law. As individuals, we will have no choice in the  matter. Our “choice” will be to have health insurance for our families and therefore support (via our premium payments) that which is against the core truths we believe, or go without health insurance.
